Pilot line: Biosensors
Inkjet printing for functionalisation of biosensors
(building on results from SMIS - Romanian funding program)
Objective: Development of a GMP ready Pilot Line based on an upgraded inkjet printer from Ceradrop with multi-material printing capabilities, able to process 4 different types of inks including nanocellulose -, bioreceptor - as well as conductive inks. The process will be combined with screen printing of electrochemical sensor arrays and microchip bonding.
The capabilities of the Pilot Line will be demonstrated with the fabrication of biosensors for incontinence products. The biosensor will be a paper based POC device able to detect up to 6 different analytes of interest in the urine. An embedded sensor chip, powered via NFC, will allow readout and display the results on a smart phone app.
The technology will be made market ready by Intelectro, within a certified process for enabling fabrication of IVDs for different use cases.
