Urinary uric acid measurement serves as a valuable diagnostic tool to distinguish between urate overproduction and impaired renal clearance. Elevated urinary levels are associated with nephrolithiasis risk and reflect increased purine metabolism, while reduced excretion may indicate renal dysfunction or pharmacologic effect. Electrochemical methods offer rapid, sensitive, and cost-effective detection, and are increasingly explored as of their capability of providing high sensitivity and selectivity, requiring small sample volumes, allowing for rapid, real-time analysis without the need for extensive sample preparation. These techniques are cost-effective, compatible with miniaturized and portable devices, and point-of-care testing platforms.
What is sInkScreen about?
sInkScreen aims to develop a non-enzymatic electrochemical platform provided with electrodes functionalized with a receptor layer based on 2D materials hybridized with Quantum Dots, with tailored dimensional and geometrical architecture for uric acid (UA) detection, fabricated through integration of inkjet printing as final manufacturing stage within screen-printing.
Our Team
ProSupport is a company based in Iasi County, Romania which is running scientific and engineering consultancy activities in the field of electrical engineering and materials with functional role in electrical engineering, with special focus in the field of flexible printed devices. The company was founded in 2013 by Dr. Marius Olariu and to date it successfully implemented a series of R&D projects funded under structural funds and Era.Net funding schemes. Currently, ProSupport is manufacturing and commercializing flexible sensory platforms equipped with interdigitated microelectrodes on the national market, while also being able to provide personalized planning, design and manufacturing services in relation to any kind of flexible electronic and electrical devices, adapted to the needs and particularities of each client based on the developed infrastructure and staff skills.
